"The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the LORD's favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion — to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair." ~ from ISAIAH 61 Bible verse for this Blog

CHILDREN's DAY in MEXICO More Precious Than...

Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."Matthew 19:13-15

First song this morning that caught my attention was sung by children:

Señor, Tú eres más preciosa que la plata y

Señor, Tú eres más costoso que el oro y

Señor, Tú eres más brillante que el diamante y

Nada lo que hay compare en Tí!!! Lord You are more precious than Silver!

Lord You are more costly than gold!

Lord You are more beautiful than diamonds!

And nothing in this world compares to You!

A very simple song written in 1992 and sung by Lynn DeShazo.

If only we had raised or taught our children this principle, how PRECIOUS is life:

their life, other's lives, Our sweet Jesus' life...

perhaps than we would not be hearing of such violence everywhere,

perhaps than our schools would be a safe haven for learning,

perhaps than our nation would not be fighting a war against terroism...

TODAY, in México, it is Día de Los Niños, Children's Day!

Celebrate the lives of your children, make them each feel important!

Though this song is meant and sung to the Glory of Our Precious Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Look what He says in Matthew, Mark, and Luke. Know without a doubt, Jesus sees each and every child with potential, that they indeed are a treasure in His Kingdom, more precious than silver, gold or diamonds.

In the good ole U.S.A., we are being broken, in our economy and in our lives, we are being shaken to the core, in our homes, perhaps it's because we put to much value on material goods and not on eternal values!

Though we are a glorious nation, with hearts as big as gold, we have forgotten "the children", we have forgotten to teach them values that result in more giving than receiving, the necessities not the "brand names"...because we wanted them to have the BEST!

Though Mexico is poor, they know how to bless the children. The very poorest children, with dirt on their faces, seem more happy than the ones with much. They have big hopes and dreams to have all that but meanwhile, they have something that is priceless: A SMILE and a GOD that loves them.

Please go back and read what Helen wrote about the Forgotten Children!

Thankful Thursday: Honoring Helen, April 17th, 2008.

The kids pictured below are waiting for a ham sandwich "torta", a bottle of water and a fruit, given out by the Vineyard Church here in Mazatlan. They live in a colony right down from the dumpsite. In the past, they use to go and work along side their parents in the dumps. Now, because of Vineyard, they have a school and go to school and no longer can work in the dumps! Thank you Jesus, for each child that comes to know you!

My intent was to give the History of Children's day in Mexico and even USA. Check it out at: http://www.texasdia.org/history.html

Trusting in Triumphs for Tuesday!!!

Because I missed posting yesterday, for my Monday of Mazes, Messes and Miracles...that's my own personal meme for Mondays, until I learn how to do one for everyone! I just had to find time today to TRUST that I would post something! It wasn't because I couldn't find anything to say(God forbid) or inspiration (because daily God gives me inspiration, usually in my devotions or quiet time). I was hoping yesterday, to have a Miracle, or even a Mess or Maze to use as my topic. (I'm purposely waiting for a Miracle on an upcoming story!) And everyday, is a maze or a mess around here. But Miracles...don't come that often. Yet then I realize each day there is a miracle. Just that we wake up and live and breathe another breath of life is a miracle. Look at what's happening around us everywhere and be thankful for the gift of a NEW DAY! JUST LOOK AT THE RAINBOW: A REFLECTION OF GOD'S LOVE displayed in ALL COLORS! [The truth is that I felt so sick yesterday and that's the real reason I didn't write. My internet service was in and out yesterday! My cyber didn't open up at all. I was lost! It just wasn't meant to be!]So, today, I'm doing catch-up! As I was reading my emails, evotionals and 1 Peter 3 Living, I went to S.U.M.Spiritually Unequal Marriages site [http://unequalmarriage.typepad.com/or just click on logo or site over in the right sidebar] and read Dineen's excellent post on LOVE! Though she was sharing on "THE MEANING OF LOVE", I was seeing TRUST for me. God was asking me, "Do you TRUST me?" (Maybe it's because He knows already how much I love Him and like Dineen says "I DO", I too say "I do" continuously). But my "DO" for today, is in that rainbow of TRUSTing His PROMISES! In one of my first blogs, I used the song from Twila Paris, "Do I Trust You, Lord?" for something entirely different than the TRUST for today. So it's clear that He's trying to make a point here. From Dineen's post on "The Meaning of Love", I kept hearing the Lord say this to me... "Do you Trust me?" and my immediate, without thinking answer is "YES, of course, Lord! You know that!" and then He responds and asks, "In everything?" So I ponder...and reflect, each day when I pray, I surrender today I'll get out of the way... for God to do His work! Let GO, Let GOD! yet I ask HIM, some of the same petitions, such as my issue for today: salvation for loved ones. For years, I submit this same petition, and I will not give up until they are saved! And then my eyes fall, on a magnet on my little fridge: As children bring their broken toys, with tears for us to mend, I brought my broken dreams to God, because He is my Friend. But then instead of leaving Him, in peace to work alone, I hung around and tried to help, with ways that were my own. At last, I snatched them back again and cried, "How can you be so slow?" "My child" He said, "What could I do? You never did let go." So, again, I'm back ON my knees. And this time, after I ask for His forgiveness, especially for my many failures (which I call MESSES here), I learn to LET GO and move out of HIS WAY. My problem was that I always was trying to do it on MY OWN or my OWN WAY. I could easily see the many times, I was not just a failure at this, but I was a complete OBSTACLE for God getting through to DO exactly what I was asking! Finally I have learned to seek His Way through His Word, and claim it. We can say, "Thy Will be done" but many times it's our will or way be done and we don't wait for His will. He never pushes anyone's will, that's why it's free will. Our Choice! In the case of salvation for all loved ones, we know that it is HIS WILL that not any should perish. So we must cling to that and press on as if it already is DONE in the heavenlies. I usually ask God to send someone, other than me now, to move on this loved ones' life. I don't stop praying for salvation for anyone but pray God's Word and personalize it for that person. Then I claim the loved one and see the loved one as another TRIUMPH in God's day and God's Way. For you see, He's still working on me, too! He takes each of us, right where we are and moves forward one step at a time. When we fall, He quickly is there to pick us up. When we step backwards, He beckons us forward! "Come on..." All He is asking is to TRUST Him. I'm sure many times, He has been just trying to pry my hands open to finally Let GO and LET GOD! I can think of many times, I have laid things down at His feet, with tear soaked face and then as I turn and walk away, I realize that I didn't leave it ALL there...I held on...maybe to just a thread...maybe just a little control by me...maybe just one more try...maybe I just didn't DO it right...and He reminds me, "Do you TRUST me?" God's RAINBOW: a symbol of His Promises to me. God is a God of His Word and He will bring it to completion in HIS PERFECT TIMING. TRUST HIM! (I do!!!!!!!) Lord, I am letting go! "In His time, in His time, He makes all things beautiful, in His time, Lord, please show me everyday, As You're teaching me Your way, That You do just what You say, in Your time. In Your time, in Your time, You make all things beautiful, in Your time. Lord, my life to Yours I bring, May each song I have to sing, Be to You a lovely thing, in Your time. ©1978, Maranatha! Music Words and Music by Diana Ball TRIUMPHANT TUESDAY!!! I look forward in the triumphs of loved ones bowing before the One True God and proclaiming complete surrender of their life to the King of Kings, and the Lord of Lords and I count it done, in the Name of Jesus. Amen!

CHIQUITITA is the littlest pup of CHIMINITO from Camera Critters#2.
She was born January 5th, 2006 in a litter of 6.
Rejected by her real mom, she became my favorite. I had to feed/nurse her because she couldn't keep down her mom's milk, and she was the runt! She's named because of her size and the song from ABBA, "Chiquitita".
[I'd like to say the following photo in the hammock is taken by me of Chiquitita, because it looks so much like her and that's how she sleeps-belly up, but it's not mine! My REAL photos of CHIQUITITA are the ones above and below "Camera Critters".

Super Sunday Scene, Song and Scripture

SUPER SUNDAY SCENE, SONG and SCRIPTURE What SONG or SCRIPTURE comes to your mind as you gaze upon this SCENE?
From "National Geographic" Coastal Landscape

Please leave your song or scripture in the comment or what you find SUPER this SUNDAY!

(I will post mine later in the day! Enjoy a SUPER SUNDAY! )

The sun has set on another day of the Lord! Thank you if you dropped by and/or left a comment.

The photo is a sunset on a marsh along the coast. Marshes have reeds. In God's Word, in Isaiah 42 (and Matthew 12 refers to it) it says:

..." a bruised reed He will not break..."

Many times, people use this verse to bring comfort in a tough situation, when it seems like one cannot bear anymore. A reed may bend but it won't break. Actually, a reed pierces or cuts.

However, this verse is from one of the major prophets, Isaiah. And prophets give warnings. So, rather than this being a verse showing an all merciful and compassionate God, it is letting us know that a final judgement will come. Indicated better by reading the full context.

Thus, the song that I thought of was "Bless the Broken Road" by SELAH (even though there is no road in this photo). The golden sun in the clouds leads to a heavenly road!

I believe that these came to bear heavily upon my mind as I join in prayer for comfort and peace in the road ahead for Angie and Todd Smith, from Selah. This past weekend, April 20th, they had a tribute to Audrey Carolyn, and I was sadly made aware of their whole story. I wept as Jesus wept as He walked this road with them, as many have and do. This testimony pierces the hearts of many but the bruised reed will not be broken, though the road may look that way now.

If you have not heard about their testimony of love or seen Angie's heartfelt song, slideshow and precious letter to her daughter, please go to her site "Bring the Rain" and let them know you care! http://audreycaroline.blogspot.com/2008/04/slideshow.html

Lord, Continue to surround Angie, Todd and family with Your Peace and send Your Holy Comforter daily in the weeks ahead. May they recall the words to their own songs and receive strength from the MESSAGE! May you "bless their broken road and lead them straight to You" and "point their way into Your Loving arms" and would You CARRY Angie, Todd and their lovely daughters into that healing place just as Angie says "I will carry you" carry them. Be with them, Lord as they "Turn to You" Jesus in Your sweet name, I pray...Amen

PSALM FRIDAY! Psalm 18:20-28 Boasting/Pride

"Today we will spend our time together digging into verses twenty through twenty-eight of Psalm 18. Here’s today’s question~ Is it wrong, prideful, or boastful to be proud of who we are and what we are doing? Are you ready? Let’s dig in..." To see and learn more about this GREAT study, please go to By His Grace

MY REFLECTION for today will center on WHO I AM not on WHAT I AM DOING?

I have often identified with David. I loved the fact that David was a "man after God's own heart". I want to be a woman after God's own heart and at times, I feel like I have a heart of God,

when I look with compassion at others and their situations,

when my hearts breaks for others,

when I cry or weep for the "lost",

when I see so much happening in the world around us,

when I look at the life of Jesus,

when I try to identify with others,

when I pray,

and then I realize that my heart isn't even close to the immense heart of God, Our Heavenly Father.

I recently encountered a precious site on the internet: http://www.fathersloveletter.com/.

They have literally heard thousands of stories from people around the world who have been impacted by the message of God the Father's love. This new section on their website is dedicated to the telling of some of these stories. A testimony is a powerful thing.
The Father's Love Letter is available in 81 languages. It truly blessed me and will you or others you may know, who need a better view of a father that loves them for who they are...taken directly from His Word!

Neil T. Anderson wrote many excellent books, "The Steps to Freedom in Christ", "Bondage Breaker," "...Spiritual Warfare...", "Living Free in Christ"...etc.

I grew most in my walk when I adopted these truths and put them into effectual prayer:

I am complete in Him, Who is the Head of all principality and power (Colossians 2:10).
I am alive with Christ (Ephesians 2:5).
I am free from the law of sin and death (Romans 8:2).
I am far from oppression, and fear does not come near me (Isaiah 54:14).
I am born of God, and the evil one does not touch me (I John 5:18).
I am holy and without blame before Him in love (I Peter 1:16; Ephesians 1:4).
I have the mind of Christ (Philippians 2:5; I Corinthians 2:16).
I have the peace of God that passes all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
I have the Greater One living in me; greater is He Who is in me than he who is in the world (I John 4:4).
I have received the gift of righteousness and reign as a king in life by Jesus Christ (Romans 5:17).
I have received the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Jesus, the eyes of my understanding being enlightened (Ephesians 1:17,18).

I have received the power of the Holy Spirit to lay hands on the sick and see them recover, to cast out demons, to speak with new tongues. I have power over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means harm me (Mark 16:17,18; Luke 10:17,19).

I have put off the old man and have put on the new man, which is renewed in the knowledge after the image of Him Who created me (Colossians 3:9,10).

I have given, and it is given to me; good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over, men give into my bosom (Luke 6:38).

I have no lack for my God supplies all of my need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19).
I can quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one with my shield of faith (Ephesians 6:16).
I can do all things through Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:13).
I shall do even greater works than Christ Jesus (John 14:12).
I show forth the praises of God Who has called me out of darkness into His marvelous light (I Peter 2:9).
I am God’s child for I am born again of the incorruptible seed of the Word of God, which lives and abides forever (I Peter 1:23).

I am God’s workmanship, created in Christ unto good works (Ephesians 2:10).
I am a new creature in Christ (II Corinthians 5:17).
I am a spirit being alive to God (I Thessalonians 5:23; Romans 6:11).
I am a believer, and the light of the Gospel shines in my mind (II Corinthians 4:4).
I am a doer of the Word and blessed in my actions (James 1:22,25).
I am a joint-heir with Christ (Romans 8:17).
I am more than a conqueror through Him Who loves me (Romans 8:37).
I am an overcomer by the blood of the Lamb and the word of my testimony (Revelation 12:11).
I am a partaker of His divine nature (II Peter 1:3,4).
I am an ambassador for Christ (II Corinthians 5:20).

I am part of a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a purchased people (I Peter 2:9).

I am the righteousness of God in Jesus Christ (II Corinthians 5:21).
I am the temple of the Holy Spirit; I am not my own (I Corinthians 6:19).
I am the head and not the tail; I am above only and not beneath (Deuteronomy 28:13).
I am the light of the world (Matthew 5:14).
I am His elect, full of mercy, kindness, humility, and longsuffering (Romans 8:33; Colossians 3:12).
I am forgiven of all my sins and washed in the Blood (Ephesians 1:7).
I am delivered from the power of darkness and translated into God’s kingdom (Colossians 1:13).
I am redeemed from the curse of sin, sickness, and poverty
(Galatians 3:13; Deuteronomy 28:15-68).
I am firmly rooted, built up, established in my faith and overflowing with gratitude (Colossians 2:7).
I am called of God to be the voice of His praise (II Timothy 1:9; Psalm 66:8).
I am healed by the stripes of Jesus (I Peter 2:24; Isaiah 53:5).
I am raised up with Christ and seated in heavenly places (Colossians 2:12; Ephesians 2:6).
I am greatly loved by God (Colossians 3:12; Romans 1:7; I Thessalonians 1:4; Ephesians 2:4).
I am strengthened with all might according to His glorious power (Colossians 1:11).
I am submitted to God, and the devil flees from me because I resist him in the Name of Jesus (James 4:7).
I press on toward the goal to win the prize to which God in Christ Jesus is calling us upward (Philippians 3:14).
For God has not given us a spirit of fear; but of power, love, and a sound mind (II Timothy 1:7).
It is not I who live, but Christ lives in me (Galatians 2:20).

So, I will not speak about my teenage "PRIDE" that was broken
nor my "SELF CONFIDENCE" that was crushed, robbed or stolen,
for in my self
there are many MESSes, many failures,
many MAZES of my life's stuggles, trials, tribulations and achievements,
but none compare to WHO I AM in HIM and because of HIM,
and WHO I am becoming IN HIM as I empty out my self so HE can flow through me, use me and be glorified in WHAT I may DO because HE GIVES me strength, ability, wisdom, and I AM MORE THAN a CONQUEROR...and battles will be won for HIM.
Still watching for the MIRACLES!!! For I have seen SUCH "AMAZING GRACE!"

Thank you, Lord Jesus, as I grow each day in my walk with you. Never allow my heart to harden. May my character be more of YOUR character and less of me, but use all of me and what you have blessed me with and what I am/have learn(ing)(ed) in Christ Jesus and
Your Precious Word! Amen

PLEASE be sure to GO, SEE and HEAR more songs

at THEN SINGS MY SOUL and be sure to find out how you can join Amy and us

I hope you enjoy Marcos Witt performing here in Los Angeles, California (years back recorded in his album "Recordando L.A." Remembering L.A.). I listen to this song every morning but by Danilo Montero. Marcos Witt and Danilo Montero are part of the wonderful pastoral staff at Lakewood Community Church, in Houston, Texas besides their own music ministry.

English Translation I offer up as a prayer:

Use my life, Lord, Use my Life. I want to serve You with all the forces (strength) of my heart. Use my life, Lord, Use my life. I want to love You with all the kindness of my heart. Even though, I am not worthy...even though I have nothing that I may offer You, Divine Lord. I want to serve You with all the forces, with all my strength of my heart.

THIS IS THE BEST WAY TO LEARN SPANISH THROUGH MUSIC!!! especially when the artist sings clearly and precisely the words, with all the strength of his heart and gives his all for Jesus Christ. Marcos Witt, is a gifted composer and singer, with a heart for God and his people.

Please keep them in prayer!

(Sorry Chris I don't have a photo of you! Chris is part of the GREAT Staff at the YWAM/JUCUM base in Mazatlan)

The rest of the YWAM team should have already arrived in Jakarta, Indonesia. There is also a group of 7 that are doing their outreach in Mexico D.F.

There is a great need in this area of the world! YWAM joined the global initiative with Call2All to bring one billion to Christ by 2020.

Please join with CALL2ALL or the upcoming GLOBAL DAY OF PRAYER(in my sidebar)! If you can't go, pray and/or support others, who are GOING or have a call to "GO into all the world" especially the 10 /40 Windowhttp://1040window.org/

So much to be done in the kingdom of God, and the laborers are still so few!

What does it cost you to share what Jesus has done for you with those around you? In some places, it may cost them their lives! Are you ready for that to die for the One who died for YOU to have eternal life?

Call2All (taken from their site http://www.call2all.org/Group/Group.aspx?id=1000014360) Click here for much more.

Call2All is a worldwide movement calling the church to a renewed, focused collaborative effort that one billion souls might be saved. Jesus' heart that "all be saved" still reverberates through every syllable of the Great Commission, just as it did over 2000 years ago when he spoke them on that dusty Jerusalem day to his disciples: "...All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." Matthew 28 v 18-20 The Call2All is bringing the global church together in a focused way to meet this goal, that the Great Commission might be fulfilled.

THANK YOU IF YOU PRAYED FOR YUNUEN, LUPIS or YOUR OWN MISSIONARIES, my heart has been humbled and blessed! To me, it is a MIRACLE and my small mustard seed of faith has been increased greatly, by seeing their need supplied by Jehovah Jireh!

SUPPORT YOUR MISSIONARIES! Help fund world-wide collaboration to complete the Great Commission! See YOUR PRAYERS ANSWERED!

Pray for your loved ones NOW to come, surrender, and give their lives to the belief of Jesus Christ as their personal Savior!

I AM SO THANKFUL that I live in a country that allows me the FREEDOM to read the Bible, worship and gather together to Praise and Thank OUR ALMIGHTY LORD! Pray for those who are still being persecuted for their faith! Someday it could be you needing prayer and support!

Please be sure to see more Critters at http://www.camera-critters.blogspot.com/. Over there, you can click on anyone and see wonderful critters! I think Misty Dawn is the creator of this! She is the foxiest...well, you just have to go and check out the marvelous photos!

Hi - Hola,

My name is Chiminito. My mom is Mazmagi, better known as "Peggy". I'm a Chihuahua/ Bull Terrier mix. Some say that I look like a Jack Russel. But there's no Jack in me! Oh, that's not entirely true, I jump or leap like a jack rabbit.

Anyways, I was born in 2003. My mom says I'm a miracle baby. I shouldn't have lived. But I did! I'm here and in great health - thanks to my mom! My real mom died and so did my sister! My mom lived on a roof top and no one really took care of her. We were all infested with all kinds of parasites: fleas, ticks "garapatas"...some very small and some very venemous! My body was filled with them.

That is until this mom saw me and tended to me! I even had one in my ear that she got out!

Ouch! I still fight her when she's taking them off me, even though I wear a collar and do all the right things. It just can't be escaped here in Mexico.

Well, my mom cleaned me up, dipped me, cleaned me again, but the day I remember her most was when she sat with me on a curb, at my first owner's house, Lizbeth.

I had been crying night after night because of the little critters all over me. No one even knew how bad! But she did. One by one she picked those little buggers off of me, even the microscopic ones. Then she dipped and bathed me until I was well. She took me to her place to take better care of me. Lizbeth came and visited and stayed once in awhile. Lizbeth loved me so much that she let me stay with my new mom, so I could get well and stay well. I love Lizbeth!

My dad's name was Chimino. I'm named after him. I'm a little piece of Chimino...the -ito in my name is endearing and means little one. I saw many videos of my dad but we don't have any photos.My dad ate something bad and died too! But that's how I ended up with my mom and Bravo.(You'll meet him another time). He became my BIG BROTHER! Kinda surrogate dad. We use to play together.

Years have past, and I have lots of tales to tell but the greatest was 2 years ago when I became the proud father of 6: 5 girls and 1 son. Now, I shouldn't have done that so that's why my mom took me to the vet so it never happens again. Just like Bravo!(the mother had to go, too). But now we live together with 2 of our daughters. One lives in Minnesota. 3 found new homes but sadly 2 of them died; my only son was one of them. I guess that's why my mom kept the others.

That reminds me, I have to tell this GREAT tale of when I was so tiny and my mom left me alone with Bravo! This is why she says I'm a miracle too!

Our home was on the second floor and she thought I was safe on the patio. She had it pretty well blocked off. But curiosity got the best of me. I had to go snooping around, looking for where she went. She hardly ever leaves me alone, so she couldn't have gone too far. Well, I found this tube, I thought I'd check it out. (Mom says it wasn't a tube and it wasn't where I should have gone, it was a rain gutter).

When she came home, I heard her and started crying. She was looking everywhere for me, upstairs in our home. She wasn't even close. So I kept crying!

Finally, she looked over the balcony toward my yelps for help and saw me, down in the basement. It was quite the ride or slide! She was down the stairs, two flights, almost as quick as I got down there. She was loving me, and checking me and so worried, but I was fine. I'M A MIRACLE! The angels were watching over me.

That's a bit of my tales! Hope you noticed that I'm ready to go in my photo! We'll be making a trip home pretty soon to Minnesota. I just want to be sure she doesn't forget me. See the rest of my family in the sidebar! Thanks for visiting!

Oh, my mom's parent's anniversary would have been today. They're celebrating in Heaven with my angel and more. Happy 62nd Anniversary! My mom told me to be sure and dedicate this to you with love!

Tough Tuesday-Never the Right Tools

I came from Minnesota to Mexico back in 1995 as a tourist. I had been to Mexico, right after graduating from High School and then again in 1993 in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon for short term mission trip, but it was way too short for me...I had to fly home because of a kidney stone!

I returned in 1996 to Mazatlán and God touched my heart and my life in a way I never expected. I had prepared since grade school. Actually, it was 6th grade from a Vocational Day, we had in my Catholic school, St. Pascal Baylon.

I made a vow to my dear friend, BFF (from my Proverbs 31 devotional today)-Jesus...that I wanted to be HIS completely, I wanted to do all I could to "know, love and serve Him" in this world. To me, and my thinking at that age and place, it was to become a (nun-sister) missionary. You remember like "The Singing Nun"...(now this probably dates me).

So, to prepare for that I made my own plan, without consulting anyone, including my parents. I would go to a public high school, with my friends, unlike my older brother and sister, who attended Catholic high schools with tuition. By doing this, my dad, would be spared paying for tuition, that could than be saved, hopefully, for my college education, in a top notch Catholic college.

I continued my walk with Jesus, as I understood it, through being part of youth groups, CYC (Catholic Youth Corp)Young Life, Sunday School volunteer, retreats, camps etc. I attended Harding High school and aimed my classes toward college prep. My one, most enjoyable class, was Spanish. At that time, it was a prerequisite for college.
  I should have taken French, since I had a grandpa that only spoke French, but for some reason, beyond me...I chose Spanish. In retrospect, Spanish sounds are much easier for me than French, even now. Anyway, I had the BEST Spanish teacher my first year , Mr.XXXXXXXXX (Sam) who made the class FUN and FILLED with many enriching activities and later opportunities (that's a whole another story)!

But because of him, I was able to receive an award from Kiawani's and a scholarship to a very prestigious college-the College of St. Catherine- and training ground for the Order of St.Joseph sisters. I could never have afforded this college without this and a MN grant. Actually, according to my SAT test, but not my GPA/grades in classes, my counselor advised me against going to college, saying I could not make it, he advised vo-tech. I think I would have enjoyed that more-alot less work. Later I did go to one...But first, the gorgeous College of St. Catherine....

Well, I did, all 4 years, with a double major and minor, with 4 Cs, a GPA of 3.6 or above in my fields. My theology teacher, and "sister"friends encouraged me to add a major in Thelogy, but I declined, though interested, Catholic theology was just not sitting well with me and I already had a very loaded schedule. Attending school fulltime, full load and at times a little more, plus working part time to help with all the many expenses, was a very full schedule. I'm pleased to say I made it! I supposedly now had the tools for my trade! Teaching...

 FAST FORWARD....to me finally allowing God to complete my life purpose...here in Mexico. It was a long time, in getting me through the MAZE of my life experiences to return to the seed that was planted in 6th grade. From my Catholic upbringing and education, I became Evangelical and finally Pentecostal, with the Assembly of God church. But here, I was in Mazatlán, and God was tapping me on my shoulder and tugging on my heart. He clearly let me know the time was now - no more excuses, no more postponements, no more but "I'm not ready, I'm not equipped".... I was told this "God does not call the equipped....God equips those called! " I met a wonderful woman, I believe sent by God, Susana!!! Susana was 108 years old from Oaxaca, Mexico. She was here, on the beach, selling her wares to make a living. But each day, she would come, meet with me and pray for her children, her family. (photo is not actually Susana, but very similar) The first time, I encountered her, she told me she had a word from the Lord. I really believed that God was sending a word through her and I told her...go ahead. And she began to quote John 14:6, a Bible verse I knew in Spanish because it was one I had taught my Spanish students. So, I began to recite it along with her and she was startled. She asked me, "Do you know where this is found?" I took out my Bible and showed her where. She was delighted. Susana told me that she wanted to learn to read because she never had been given that opportunity, she had to work. The reason she wanted to learn to read was to read the Word of God, in Spanish. So that she could put it into her dialect of Oaxacan. I gave her my cassette player with a Christian tape in Spanish, that she enjoyed listening to as she walked the beach, until it ran out of power and she threw it out! Yet still, I was aMAZED!

Daily she came, we read and we prayed until I left to come home to Minnesota. That was how I knew that my heart belonged here in Mazatlán! By one simple, humble woman named Susana, from Oaxaca, Mexico.
I returned the next year, to try living on my own, for one month. I didn't find Susana again but others who knew her. Since then I returned every year, a little more time each year until I was living here in Mazatlán more than Minnesota. I have been to other places in Mexico, but I had a burden for the people here, in this port. Though Susana, was not originally from here, there are many that come from all over Mexico to the port cities to sell or make a living. No place has touched my heart "yet" like Mazatlán.

 Today, I recalled the years I wasted not doing ministry or what God purposed for me long ago. I went outside, because my dogs were barking, and noticed that one of them, had gotten into my fenced off area, where I have plants. The fence was knocked down and you could just tell it had been invaded. In frustration, I tried to mend the fence, pushing down the stakes, in a solid, rock based soil and was not making any progress. So I went to try and find some TOOLS that would work, to reestablish my fencing that protects my plants.
  My TOOLS are very limited here. I do not have many because I try not to overspend or get things I use infrequently or too much stuff to pack up and move on...if God calls me somewhere else. And it made me think of this:

WHAT TOOLS AM I LACKING to share God's message here?
WHAT TOOLS have I put away to use not too often?
WHAT TOOLS do I think I need to start making a BIG DIFFERENCE here in MAZATLÁN?

not in my garden...but in HIS GARDEN, HIS KINGDOM... We each have been given the tools necessary to meet this purpose. We each can communicate God's Word, Love and Grace, wherever we are, whatever we're doing, on a daily basis. HE HAS GIVEN US THE TOOLS! HE HAS EQUIPPED US! HE HAS GIVEN EACH OF US A GIFT or GIFTS TO BE USED FOR A GREATER PURPOSE!

If you read, my first BLOG, my first attempt at blogging, where I explain my name "Magi" which in English, looks like the word that referred to the Three Kings, wise men that ventured from afar, bringing gifts. They were "wise"! I mentioned in that post...it was because I had a gift to share: me. I am far from "wise" like the ones, who traveled to see the Promised Messiah. But in HIS WORD, He gives us PROMISES and keeps those promises to those who love and obey Him. HIS WORD is our TOOL! Our lives and what He does for us, minute by minute, in good times and bad times, is our TOOL to use to introduce others WHY and HOW JESUS makes a difference! Some call it a testimony. I say it is our tool of the trade for today! please do not pass up the chance to use your tool today to bless someone's life, to touch someone, to change their life for the better, the BEST! In Ephesians 6, He gives us instructions: children, parents, fathers... PUT ON THE WHOLE ARMOR of GOD...these are our daily TOOLS to give us strength and power and what we need to do the WORK!

Maze, Mess or Miracle Monday

Let's see what kind of day is it: Maze, Mess or Miracle?!? Since it's Monday, it should be mmmmmmmmm..... marvelous magnificent mystifying ........miraculous! Gorgeous sunshine... Clouds passing by... Birds chirping.... Beautiful day...filled with aMazing Grace! Time to go about my early morning chores: 1st: put out garbage...Remember, Monday, Wednesday and Friday-Garbage day? 2nd:put out 5 dogs in shifts and then bring them all in....did I mention, it's Garbage day? 3rd: pick up "poop" and get it out with...you got it...the Garbage! 4th: hose down patio and give water to the plants and trees... 5th:...lastly, the dreaded "sweeping" thing. Around my patio and inside my fence, it's OK. But here in Mexico, each place has the responsibility for maintaining the sidewalk and the street around your premises, even the dirt streets...which they usually throw water on from a bucket, to prevent the dust from coming inside. In the early hours of the day, you see people leaving to exercise, leaving to work or school, and the rest "sweeping"! But "sweeping" the street with my broom...well, let me tell you, I believe in CLEANLINESS (keeps those miserable "cucarachas" away, especially on Garbage days) and I may agree with EVERYONE doing their part to be responsible in "keeping our community" clean and environmentally friendly seems marvelous, but using my broom outside on the dirty street -DAILY- not for me! You go through so many brooms here! I have inside brooms and outside broom and one that's down to the last bristles and its stick, (which I use to push the pile-up in the street so the water can flow freely to the corner...clean water-dirty water, black water, YUCK! all of it gets blocked right in front of my place if I don't keep the street clean of litter and leaves)! This just isn't the delight of my day and I do not venture out my gate daily like the others. I'm on the corner, so I have two streets, double duty. Sometimes, I do sweep in front on my sidewalk, like once a week or when it's all blocked up, I do the street with the semi-stick broom. But I hardly ever, go around the corner! (maybe once a month) TODAY...I'm feeling civic minded! I'm going to do the monthly around the corner "sweep". I put on my praise music and head out. After all, if you remember from previous blog, I spent hours painting over the graffiti on the walls...and this week I pay rent and want the owner to see how beautiful it looks...well worth my invested time!!! Looks so much better and I really want to impress him that it was worth it (with hopes that he will agree and reimburse me for the paint, since it's not my house). It's been about two weeks now, that it's been complete, except for the details of the trim...bit by bit. So, I get my broom and my broomstick, my "recojidor" (which is a dustpan that you don't have to stoop over to gather the dirt) and let the dogs out once again to enjoy the warm, beautiful sun and chirping birds because the garbage truck has now gone by...and I head out around my corner, tools in hand to "SWEEP" when I see this:

SO, what kind of a day is it?.........."MESS"........

and my MONDAY just became a blue, blue Monday with BLACK LETTERS again!

But, to whomever may be responsible for this, I have a MESSage for you:

...what you intended for "evil" or so called "fun" at someone elses' expense...

God will use for good...

God loves you! and because of Jesus, you are forgiven and YOU need HIM,

you need His guidance and direction for your life to have a PURPOSE bigger than this!

Romans 8:28 tells me,

..."and we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love HIM, who have been called according to HIS PURPOSE"...

And I Love GOD! I have been called! I have a PURPOSE DRIVEN LIFE!

Though you may have altered my exterior wall, you can not touch my interior foundation, for it is built on the ROCK...Jesus Christ!

Though my Monday is a MESS, and became a Blue Monday... I am not defeated!

BLUE is my favorite color! And I do my best when I'm blue.

Especially Heather: SOBREVIVERÉ dedicated to YOU

For more songs and info about Then Sings my Soul Saturdays, please visit Amy's Signs,Miracles and Wonders
My song choice for THEN SINGS MY SOUL SATURDAYS is SOBREVIVIRÉ by Lilly Goodman and I am dedicating it to Heather from Especially Heather Mi selección para hoy, SABÁDOS DE "ENTONCES CANTA MI ALMA", es SOBREVIVIRÉ por Lilly Goodman y estoy dedicando a Heather de ESPECIALLY HEATHER!!!

Though the song is in Spanish, I know you will receive it in your spirit! Just LISTEN! or follow the words below and stay tuned... I won't translate the song literally word for word. I will just give you the best idea of what it is saying in Spanish in English. Imagine how much you would loose if you would go back (backslide) or just go back, if after you have struggled so much time, You may choose to deny your faith.

In my life, I have witnessed MIRACLES that HE can do and even in the worse/bad times, HE has been faithful!

I will survive! Don't believe that I will faint. I will not surrender myself, I will dare myself...to the promise of that He said to you yesterday. I will guard it! "Do not fear, at your side I will go/be"

He gave me the faith and He gave me the power to beat it, to overcome/conquer!!!

I have come through strong storms, intended to break/destroy my confidence. But it has been in vain...because here I am standing in the same place with the strength like a buffalo, the powerful One of Israel gave me, prepared with arms(like weapons)ready to reach the VICTORY!

I will survive because of the force/strength He gives me I will survive, it is He that sustains me I will survive in the middle of the trials, I will survive-here I am awake I will Survive, I will survive, He breaks the chains I will survive I will survive

One can be weakened, but one will not be destroyed, He that is at my side is much stronger than that.....

1 JOHN 4:4 You dear Heather are from God and have overcome cancer and its spirits, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world!

If you don't know Heather, you'd better go on over to her site and be blessed! Click on Especially Heather in my FAVORITES with a Purpose!

I dedicated this Saturday to fasting and prayer for Heather in thanksgiving for her recent victory and one year of survival since her brain surgery, but her story started long before that! God is using Heather in a mighty way! Heather is real in how she communicates daily her ups and downs. I just met her through the internet and I feel like I know her. I clicked on a little photo of her daughter, Emma, for prayers needed, on someone else's blog in the beginning of April 2008. I was so moved by her story of Emma, I kept reading all her archives.

Because of Heather, I started my own blog..not as moving or with such profound depth or purpose, yet...but one day, I hope to touch lives as she does and move people towards greater faith or their first venture with JESUS! I count it a blessing to have crossed my journey with Heather's and Emma's.

I have a sister, who is so precious to me, who is a cancer survivor for more than 20 years (it's more but I don't want to age her) and I have a beautiful daughter(adopted), that survived through many struggles with Lupus and side effects of the medicines, who has a wonderful son that was diagnosed at 2 with autism...and I am so thankful that my sister, my daughter and my grandson are survivors and fighters!

'Cause every day is a battle yet I know because of JESUS, they are still with us!

THANK YOU HEATHER for being a witness to the rest of us of Jesus' grace, Jesus' power and strength and what it takes to STAND FOR CHRIST when we feel miserable, weak, defeated, in pain, hopeless, abandoned, vulnerable, persecuted, LOST....that we will SURVIVE and "mount up with WINGS like EAGLE's ... we will run and not grow weary... we will walk and not grow faint..."

WE must "walk the walk not just talk the talk"...thank you for your example!!!

Psalm 18

For the director of music. Of David the servant of the LORD.
He sang to the LORD the words of this song
when the LORD delivered him from the hand of all his enemies
and from the hand of Saul.

LAST WEEK-April 11th,2008

He said:
1 I love you, O LORD, my strength.
2 The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer;
my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge.
He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
3 I call to the LORD, who is worthy of praise,
and I am saved from my enemies.
4 The cords of death entangled me;
the torrents of destruction overwhelmed me.
5 The cords of the grave coiled around me;
the snares of death confronted me.
6 In my distress I called to the LORD;
I cried to my God for help.
From his temple he heard my voice;
my cry came before him, into his ears.

THIS WEEK:April 18th, 2008

7 The earth trembled and quaked,
and the foundations of the mountains shook;
they trembled because he was angry.
8 Smoke rose from his nostrils;
consuming fire came from his mouth,
burning coals blazed out of it.
9 He parted the heavens and came down;
dark clouds were under his feet.
10 He mounted the cherubim and flew;
he soared on the wings of the wind.
11 He made darkness his covering, his canopy around him—
the dark rain clouds of the sky.
12 Out of the brightness of his presence clouds advanced,
with hailstones and bolts of lightning.
13 The LORD thundered from heaven;
the voice of the Most High resounded.
14 He shot his arrows and scattered the enemies ,
great bolts of lightning and routed them.
15 The valleys of the sea were exposed
and the foundations of the earth laid bare
at your rebuke, O LORD,
at the blast of breath from your nostrils.
16 He reached down from on high and took hold of me;
he drew me out of deep waters.
17 He rescued me from my powerful enemy,
from my foes, who were too strong for me.
18 They confronted me in the day of my disaster,
but the LORD was my support.
19 He brought me out into a spacious place;
he rescued me because he delighted in me.

20 The LORD has dealt with me according to my righteousness;
according to the cleanness of my hands he has rewarded me.
21 For I have kept the ways of the LORD;
I have not done evil by turning from my God.
22 All his laws are before me;
I have not turned away from his decrees.
23 I have been blameless before him
and have kept myself from sin.
24 The LORD has rewarded me according to my righteousness,
according to the cleanness of my hands in his sight.
25 To the faithful you show yourself faithful,
to the blameless you show yourself blameless,
26 to the pure you show yourself pure,
but to the crooked you show yourself shrewd.
27 You save the humble
but bring low those whose eyes are haughty.
28 You, O LORD, keep my lamp burning;
my God turns my darkness into light.
29 With your help I can advance against a troop
with my God I can scale a wall.
30 As for God, his way is perfect;
the word of the LORD is flawless.
He is a shield
for all who take refuge in him.
31 For who is God besides the LORD ?
And who is the Rock except our God?
32 It is God who arms me with strength
and makes my way perfect.
33 He makes my feet like the feet of a deer;
he enables me to stand on the heights.
34 He trains my hands for battle;
my arms can bend a bow of bronze.
35 You give me your shield of victory,
and your right hand sustains me;
you stoop down to make me great.
36 You broaden the path beneath me,
so that my ankles do not turn.
37 I pursued my enemies and overtook them;
I did not turn back till they were destroyed.
38 I crushed them so that they could not rise;
they fell beneath my feet.
39 You armed me with strength for battle;
you made my adversaries bow at my feet.
40 You made my enemies turn their backs in flight,
and I destroyed my foes.
41 They cried for help, but there was no one to save them—
to the LORD, but he did not answer.
42 I beat them as fine as dust borne on the wind;
I poured them out like mud in the streets.
43 You have delivered me from the attacks of the people;
you have made me the head of nations;
people I did not know are subject to me.
44 As soon as they hear me, they obey me;
foreigners cringe before me.
45 They all lose heart;
they come trembling from their strongholds.
46 The LORD lives! Praise be to my Rock!
Exalted be God my Savior!
47 He is the God who avenges me,
who subdues nations under me,
48 who saves me from my enemies.
You exalted me above my foes;
from violent men you rescued me.
49 Therefore I will praise you among the nations, O LORD;
I will sing praises to your name.
50 He gives his king great victories;
he shows unfailing kindness to his anointed,
to David and his descendants forever.

Salmos 18 (Nueva Versión Internacional)

Salmos 18

2 El Señor es mi *roca, mi amparo, mi libertador;
4 Los lazos de la muerte me envolvieron;
6 En mi angustia invoqué al Señor;
clamé a mi Dios,
y él me escuchó desde su templo;
¡mi clamor llegó a sus oídos!

7 La tierra tembló, se estremeció;
se sacudieron los cimientos de los montes;
¡retemblaron a causa de su enojo!
8 Por la nariz echaba humo,
por la boca, fuego consumidor;
¡lanzaba carbones encendidos!
14 Lanzó sus flechas, sus grandes centellas;
las cuencas del mar quedaron a la vista;
19 Me sacó a un amplio espacio;
me libró porque se agradó de mí.

20 El Señor me ha pagado conforme a mi *justicia;
21 pues he andado en los *caminos del Señor;
no he cometido mal alguno
ni me he apartado de mi Dios.
22 Presentes tengo todas sus sentencias;
no me he alejado de sus decretos.
23 He sido íntegro con él
y me he abstenido de pecar.
e irreprochable con quien es irreprochable;
26 sincero eres con quien es sincero,
pero sagaz con el que es tramposo.
27 Tú das la *victoria a los humildes,
pero humillas a los altaneros.
28 Tú, Señor, mantienes mi lámpara encendida;
tú, Dios mío, iluminas mis tinieblas.
29 Con tu apoyo me lanzaré contra un ejército;
contigo, Dios mío, podré asaltar murallas.
30 El camino de Dios es perfecto;
y endereza mi camino;
y me mantiene firme en las alturas;
y con tu diestra me sostienes;
tu bondad me ha hecho prosperar.
36 Me has despejado el camino,
así que mis tobillos no flaquean.
37 Perseguí a mis enemigos, les di alcance,
y no retrocedí hasta verlos aniquilados.
38 Los aplasté. Ya no pudieron levantarse.
¡Cayeron debajo de mis pies!
39 Tú me armaste de valor para el combate;
bajo mi planta sometiste a los rebeldes.
40 Hiciste retroceder a mis enemigos,
43 Me has librado de una turba amotinada;
me has puesto por encima de los *paganos;
me sirve *gente que yo no conocía.
44 Apenas me oyen, me obedecen;
y canto salmos a tu *nombre.
50 El Señor da grandes victorias a su rey;

Does Prayer matter?

My Comments:
Prayer is my life focus!
If you have a call to intercession or have learned how vital pray is to keeping your relationship alive with Jesus, or how He sustains everyday, every moment, waiting for you to speak and better yet Listen to His Spirit!
The more you pray, the closer He stays!
So, when, you really need Him...
He doesn't seem so far away!

¡Me sostienen!

¡Gloria a Dios!

Jaci Velasquez sings "On MY Knees" Listen to it as you go to Him in PRAYER.
La CANCION es de Jaci Velasquez "En Mis Rodillas"

Spend time alone with God, read His Word, Hear His Voice through what He says in His Word, Pray and claim Bibles verses in prayer...take the Bible passage and personalize it. Put your name in it or whomever you're praying for...say it as God says it and sees it! Look at David!
Psalms are the easiest to put into your own words and pray it! Of course, the "Our Father", "The Lord's Prayer" in Matthew6:9 is our BEST example and the model prayer of Jesus!
Prayer is our safe place-our place of refuge! You can go there and say it however you want!
Shout when you're angry; shout when you're full of JOY and PRAISE! Whisper when you're hurting, whisper when your sobs won't cease! Jesus hears you and you can trust He'll understand, For He has listened right there beside you in this land... For He has walked right there and felt that kind of pain... as He went to the Cross at Calvary, He opened Heaven's GAIN to Our Heavenly Father, for you and for me...just say You believe!
