"The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the LORD's favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion — to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair." ~ from ISAIAH 61 Bible verse for this Blog

Satan's Conference

Throughout the world, October 31st is an international celebration. It's known as HALLOWEEN, a shortened term for "All Hallows' Even" or hallowed evening because the following two days are Roman Catholic religious holidays, All Saint's Day (November 1st) and All Soul's Day (November 2nd) which in Mexico, since 1960, is known as "Dia de los Muertos" (Day of the Dead).

Some believe that it's origin is not just from the Catholic church but from the Celtic's as a pagan festivity known as Samhain (pronounced sow-win). For a comprehensive background, you can read here. Whatever it's origin or tradition is not important except to realize how it arrived to USA and your home or family tradition or even substitution of something else!

I am NOT writing to debate whether participating or acknowledging this festivity is good, evil or
against Christian principles. But I do want to present the fact that it's a family choice that's needs real understanding of its history and what I am presenting here as well as the reason for setting ourselves apart and not conforming to the world. Look at the above background article for all the "stuff" we do also...from jack o lanterns to trick or treat and consider your choice based on this.

John 8:12 "When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." "

John 1:5 "The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it."
Acts 26:18 "to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.'"

I received this through a friend who received it through an email but it's available on the internet as Author Unknown (perhaps we know who the author of confusion & lies is, but read this carefully)

Satan called a worldwide convention of demons.
In his opening address he said,
'We can't keep Christians from going to church.'
'We can't keep them from reading their Bibles and knowing the truth.'
'We can't even keep them from forming an intimate relationship with their Savior.'
'Once they gain that connection with Jesus, our power over them is broken.'
'So let them go to their churches; let them have their covered dish dinners,

BUT steal their time, so they don't have time to develop a relationship with Jesus Christ..'

'This is what I want you to do,' said the devil:
'Distract them from gaining hold of their Savior and maintaining that vital connection throughout their day!'

'How shall we do this?' his demons shouted.

'Keep them busy in the non-essentials of life and invent innumerable schemes to occupy their minds,'
he answered.
'Tempt them to
spend, spend, spend, and borrow, borrow, borrow.'

'Persuade the wives to go to work for long hours and the husbands to work 6-7 days each week,
10-12 hours a day, so they can afford their empty lifestyles.'

'Keep them from spending time with their children.'
'As their families fragment, soon, their homes will offer no escape from the
pressures of work!'
'Over-stimulate their minds so that they cannot hear that still, small voice.'

'Entice them to play the radio or cassette player whenever they drive.'
To keep the TV, VCR, CDs and their PCs going constantly in their
home and see to it that every store and restaurant in the world plays
non-biblical music constantly.'
'This will jam their minds and break that union with Christ.'

'Fill the coffee tables with magazines and newspapers.'
'Pound their minds with the news 24 hours a day.'
'Invade their driving moments with billboards.'

'Flood their mailboxes with junk mail, mail order catalogs,
sweepstakes, and every kind of newsletter and promotional offering free
products, services and false hopes..'

'Keep skinny, beautiful models on the magazines and TV so their
husbands will believe that outward beauty is what's important,
and they'll become dissatisfied with their wives. '

'Keep the wives too tired to love their husbands at night.'
'Give them headaches too! ' 'If they don't give their husbands the love
they need, they will begin to look elsewhere.'
'That will fragment their families quickly!'

'Give them Santa Claus to distract them from teaching their
children the real meaning of Christmas.'
'Give them an Easter bunny so they won't talk about his
resurrection and power over sin and death.'

'Even in their recreation, let them be excessive.'
'Have them return from their recreation exhausted.'
'Keep them too busy to go out in nature and reflect on God's creation.
Send them to amusement parks, sporting events, plays,
concerts, and movies instead.'

'Keep them busy, busy, busy!'

'And when they meet for spiritual fellowship, involve them in
gossip and small talk so that they leave with troubled consciences. '
'Crowd their lives with so many good causes they have no time to seek power from Jesus.'
'Soon they will be working in their own strength, sacrificing
their health and family for the good of the cause.'
'It will work!'
'It will work!'

It was quite a plan!

The demons went eagerly to their assignments causing Christians
everywhere to get busier and more rushed, going here and there.
Having little time for their God or their families.
Having no time to tell others about the power of Jesus to change lives.

I guess the question is, has the devil been successful in his schemes?
You be the judge!!!!!

Does 'BUSY' mean: B-eing U-nder S-atan's Y-oke?
Please pass this on, if you aren't too BUSY
2 Corinthians 4:6
For God, who said,
"Let light shine out of darkness," made his light shine in our hearts
to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ

"...And you will know that I am the LORD, for you have not followed my decrees or kept my laws but have conformed to the standards of the nations around you." Ezekial 11:12

"Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will." Romans 12:2

Each one of us need to break free from the darkness in our world and our lives
to have a life that is abundant and full of meaning

I have come that they may have life and have it more abundantly
(my version)

"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life,
and have it to the full." (NIV)
John 10:10

"Somebody’s Daughter” is a multimedia release featuring a television documentary, which details the lives of three men and one couple active in Christian ministry, who struggled with and overcame addiction to pornography. It addresses the universal appeal of pornography, speaking to individuals, families and churches." To read more by Ginny McCabe go here. I know you are thinking but this doesn't affect me THEN why is it that ... "Pornography succeeds in luring about 40 million adults in the United States annually into its many traps. This includes untold numbers of Christian leaders and pastors who struggle against its daily attraction and stumble in the fight." The statistics that "Blazing Grace" gives are absolutely aMazing & mind boggling. They have joined their ministry with TechMission Safe Families Keeping Children Safe On Line. Being that this is October 29th, I should have posted this first thing this morning or better yet on Sunday(the initial date seems to vary)! Because I was wrong and the initial date was sooner, I'm late again but feel I need to make you aware that this is:
Pornography Awareness Week.
October 26th through November 2nd, 2008
I just became aware of it last night by visiting Sita @ Sita's Sanctum, please go and visit here.
Sita has shared the words to this song and other vital sites & information you must read!!!

SOMEBODY'S DAUGHTER Words & Music by John Mandeville & Steve Siler

The moment she was born Her mommy and daddy cried Taken by the wonder of life From Barbie dolls to ballet shoes From roller skates to lipstick and rouge She's become a lady overnight Why do I see only flesh and look right past her heart I try to tell myself I can't help what I feel - then I remember

She's somebody's daughter Somebody's child Somebody's pride and joy Somebody loves her for who she is inside She has a mother and father She's somebody's daughter

You knit her together Your cherished creation Made her body a temple for the soul Why can't I appreciate The beauty that your hands have made And maintain my self control 'Cause when I see only flesh you're looking at her heart There is so much more to her than meets the eye - I need to remember

Heaven's own precious child A person full of worth and dignity When her beauty is defiled I demean us both and fail to see

She's somebody's daughter Somebody's child Somebody's pride and joy Somebody loves her for who she is inside She has a mother and father She's somebody's daughter She has a heavenly father She's somebody's daughter

********************************************************************* Now for various reasons, I need to be aware of this but the main reason is that God told me that where I live in Mexico, and various tourist sites are part of why I have been called to serve in this area. Two summers ago, on my way back from Minnesota to Mexico, God was speaking clearly to me about this issue and Human Trafficking. That is the reason, that in my sidebar under Women & Children, I have sites listed that deal with this issue. I knew nothing about this so that's when you know it's GOD speaking. For one entire year, God poured in confirmation after confirmation so I began researching and door after door opened. I knew the area here that was of most concern. So if I, a Christian woman not seeking any of this knew about this how much more readily available a man/woman partner would know that is seeking this adult entertainment. I began to seriously intercede the moment that God revealed that I should be concerned about a ministry in this direction. Almost immediately, I became aware of "PROJECT RESCUE". Though it's not in Mexico, it should be and one day, by the grace of God, it will be! One of the first confirmation, upon my return was in the local news that spoke about a "bust" on an establishment with someone under 15 working there. I was devastated! The next confirmation, came from another news report of a out of town tourist that came here after "chatting" with a young women...she was a 10 yr. old but had lied about her age. And the story goes from there. The Lord began to clearly give me a heart for "Somebody's Daughter". Below I have added some highlights from the article below [for the full article go here] just click RIGHTS-MEXICO: 16,000 Victims of Child Sexual Exploitation By Emilio Godoy MEXICO CITY, Aug 13 (IPS) - The child pornography and commercial sexual exploitation industry enjoys total impunity in the Mexican capital, according to a report by the Mexico City Human Rights Commission. "The "special report on commercial sexual exploitation of children in the Federal District" confirms that there are at least 20 spots in Mexico City where these illegal activities flourish, under the protection of corrupt elements in the police force." "Although there are no figures on the extent of the phenomenon in the capital, an estimated 16,000 girls and boys are victims of sexual exploitation in this country ..." "International organizations fighting child sex tourism say Mexico is one of the leading hotspots of child sexual exploitation, along with Thailand, Cambodia, India, and Brazil. "... Many girls and boys are lured to Mexico City from small towns or rural areas by criminal networks, through false promises of domestic work or other jobs. "But the problem is not limited to Mexico City. Commercial child sexual exploitation is also found in tourist resorts like Acapulco on the Pacific and Cancún on the Caribbean, as well as in cities and towns on the borders with the United States and Guatemala. " [MAZATLAN is the same] "In the impoverished southern state of Chiapas, children are sold for as little as 100 to 200 dollars, according to human rights groups. That area is considered one of the worst places in the world in terms of child prostitution." UNICEF, the U.N. children’s agency, estimates that around two million children around the world are sexually exploited through prostitution and pornography, which is the third most lucrative illegal industry in the world after drug trafficking and weapons dealing. God is crying out for us, the church, to stop this, to become aware, to save our homes, and more importantly SAVE OUR CHILDREN. We must be on our knees crying out for God's mercy & stop playing church and ignoring the problems that are plaguing our world, get out of our comfort zone and hear the atrocities that are befalling the world & always leads back to the USA!

Tuesday is my day for real life ministry! So I'm off...I just wanted to leave you with some TRUTHS from God's Word. I was hoping to do "The Love Dare" but that will have to wait!

These are LIFE PRINCIPLES from Dr. Charles Stanley. He makes this and much more available at his site: In Touch Ministries
  1. Our intimacy with God – His highest priority for our lives – determines the impact of our lives.
  2. Obey God and leave all the consequences to Him.
  3. God’s Word is an immovable anchor in times of storm.
  4. The awareness of God’s presence energizes us for our work.
  5. God does not require us to understand His will, just obey it, even if it seems unreasonable.
  6. You reap what you sow, more than you sow, and later than you sow.
  7. The dark moments of our life will last only so long as is necessary for God to accomplish His purpose in us.
  8. Fight all your battles on your knees and you win every time.
  9. Trusting God means looking beyond what we can see to what God sees.
  10. If necessary, God will move heaven and earth to show us His will.
  11. God assumes full responsibility for our needs when we obey Him.
  12. Peace with God is the fruit of oneness with God.
  13. Listening to God is essential to walking with God.
  14. God acts on behalf of those who wait for Him.
  15. Brokenness is God’s requirement for maximum usefulness.
  16. Whatever you acquire outside of God’s will eventually turns to ashes.
  17. We stand tallest and strongest on our knees.
  18. As children of a sovereign God, we are never victims of our circumstances.
  19. Anything you hold too tightly, you will lose.
  20. Disappointments are inevitable, discouragement is a choice.
  21. Obedience always brings blessing.
  22. To walk in the Spirit is to obey the initial promptings of the Spirit.
  23. You can never out give God.
  24. To live the Christian life is to allow Jesus to live His life in and through us.
  25. God blesses us so that we might bless others.
  26. Adversity is a bridge to a deeper relationship with God.
  27. Prayer is life’s greatest time saver.
  28. No Christian has ever been called to “go it alone” in his or her walk of faith.
  29. We learn more in our valley experiences than on our mountaintops.
  30. An eager anticipation of the Lord’s return keeps us living productively.

His LIFE PRINCIPLE Notes "How to Release Your burdens?"

Galatians 6:1–5 Bearing Each Other's Burdens

Are you carrying an oppressive burden today? Jesus Christ is offering you another way. Remember that His yoke is light. It will not bend you, break you, or destroy you. On the contrary, submission to the Lord will actually lift you up.

Let God take the weight of the burden you were never meant to carry by yourself. In exchange, He will give you the Holy Spirit's power to enable you to face any of life's challenges.

Heavenly Father, Thank You that You sent Jesus to take our greatest burden. Thank You for the power of the Holy Spirit that enables me to face life's challenges. Thank You Lord, for offering me another way for Your yoke is easy & light as we trust You! Thank You that I was not meant to carry my burdens alone and You send others to bear my burdens and share my joys as we pray one for another in Jesus' Name.

Have you ever heard a love song that

Set your spirit free

Have you ever watched a sunrise and

Felt you could not breathe

What if it's Him

What if it's God speaking

Have you ever cried a tear that

You could not explain

Have you ever met a stranger

Who already knew your name

What if it's Him

What if it's God speaking

Who knows how He'll get a hold of us

Get our attention to prove He is enough

He'll do and He'll use

Whatever He wants to

To tell us "I love you"

Have you ever lost a loved one

Who you thought should still be here

Do you know what it feels like

To be tangled up in fear

What if He's somehow involved

What if He's speaking through it all

Who knows how He'll get a hold of us

Get our attention to prove He is enough

He'll do and He'll use

Whatever He wants to

To tell us "I love you"

His ways are higher

His ways are better

Though sometimes strange

What could be stranger

Than God in a manger

Who knows how He'll get a hold of us

Get our attention to prove He is enough

Who knows how He'll get a hold of you

Get your attention to prove He is enough

He'll do and He'll use

Whatever He wants to

To tell us "I love you"

God is speaking

"I love you"

~Mandisa~ JEREMIAH 29:11-14 tells us: "...For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. 14 I will be found by you," declares the LORD, "and will bring you back from captivity. I will gather you from all the nations and places where I have banished you," declares the LORD, "and will bring you back to the place from which I carried you into exile."
This is an addition of something that God spoke to me through this recent devotional from Joel Osteen. You may not like him or see him as a pastor, but as for me, he is an encourager & his words, his messages and his ministry speaks to me & usually blesses me & inspires me. Just that I received this devotional after not receiving any since Feb. before I started blogging...shows how much God used this to bless me and answer me:

He’s Working on Your Behalf

Today's Scripture

“We know that God will work all things together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose” (Romans 8:28).

Today's Word from Joel and Victoria

God is working behind the scenes in your life, today. No matter what you may be facing, no matter what trial you may be going through, God has a plan to turn things around in your favor. Right now, He is working out a plan for your good. Right now, He is orchestrating the right people to come across your path. He is orchestrating the right opportunities to open up to you. You may not see it in the natural, but look with your eyes of faith today. Keep standing. Keep believing. Keep hoping. Keep following His Word. Focus on His goodness in your life, knowing that He rewards the people who seek after Him. As you meditate on the faithfulness of God and show your love for Him by following His Word, you will see His plan come to pass. You’ll experience His peace and joy. and you will live in victory all the days of your life! A Prayer for Today

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your faithfulness in my life. I trust that You are working behind the scenes on my behalf. Give me Your strength and peace today and fill me with Your faith to overcome. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

And if by grace, then it is no longer by works; if it were, grace would no longer be grace. Romans 11:6 But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them—yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me. 1 Corinthians 15:10 Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. Hebrews 4:16

Usually I choose a contemporary song or one that God has touched my life with during the week. But today I have chosen a hymn. A great hymn with a great story. Now since I don't know how to do this, I've given you 3 links below. The first two, will give you the words or background of the hymn. It's instrumental so you can sing along with the lyrics! I was going to copy them & place the lyrics here so you could really look at the meaning and the words. But copyright concerns me... The third one is not exactly the same but I know you will enjoy how this version is sung!
BETH~ this is dedicated again to you, to put this whole week together! ~Just for the fond memories of this beautiful hymn~

Just As I Am, Without One Plea - Most Popular Christian Hymns and Gospel Songs at Precious Lord Take My Hand.com (2nd one) Cyberhymnal @ http://www.cyberhymnal.org/htm/j/u/justasam.htm (3rd one) Words are at the end as my prayer Since the HYMN became known as the "altar call song" in the Billy Graham Crusades I would be amiss, if I did not end this with the two following additions:
I appreciate so much how you have given & served Our Lord! You are one of the greatest evangelists except for Jesus Christ himself I'll be sending you my birthday wish & prayers Franklin Graham says,
On November 7, my father will celebrate his 90th birthday, and we’d like to give him a special gift. If you or someone in your family came to know Jesus Christ through his ministry, please share that with him. Send us your story—or a simple greeting—by November 1, and we’ll put all the messages together and present them to my father when we celebrate his birthday. Thank you for helping us encourage him on this special day.” *********************************************************************
DO YOU KNOW JESUS as YOUR LORD & SAVIOR? If you died today, would you go to heaven? Are you willing to gamble an eternity on the chance? Make your eternity count through Jesus Christ! LET BILLY GRAHAM'S STEPS TO PEACE(click here) walk you into eternity & have that peace of KNOWING HIM just pray this Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner and need Your forgiveness. I believe that You died for my sins. I want to turn from my sins. I now invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as Lord and Savior. In Jesus' name. Amen. God's Assurance: His Word If you prayed this prayer, The Bible says ... "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. " —Romans 10:13 (NIV) Did you sincerely ask Jesus Christ to come into your life? Where is He right now? What has He given you? "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast." —Ephesians 2:8,9 (NIV)
Receiving Christ, we are born into God's family through the supernatural work of the Holy Spirit who indwells every believer. This is called regeneration, or the "new birth." This is just the beginning of a wonderful new life in Christ. To deepen this relationship you should: 1. Read your Bible everyday to know Christ better. 2. Talk to God in prayer every day. 3. Tell others about Christ. 4. Worship, fellowship, and serve with other Christians in a church where Christ is preached. 5. As Christ's representative in a needy world, demonstrate your new life by your love and concern for others. ************************************************************************ HERE ARE THE WORDS TO #3 by DAVID PHELPS, It's my prayer & may it be yours: Dear Lord, I’m on my knees again I come to You because You understand I’ve tried so hard, but I just can’t change myself That’s why I know I need Your help So here I am This in my plea My only hope is Your love for me I’m reaching out So desperately Come take my hand; take all of me Just as I am Oh Lord, You make what’s broken new Why can’t I just learn to follow You I want to know You and feel You in my soul I surrender all control I am not afraid to follow You where You lead me I can leave the past behind me I’m forgiven and I’m free
HAVE A BLESSED WEEKEND! John 8:32 "Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."

I'm going to try this NEW MEME today other than my FRIEND FEATURE on FRIDAY because I just found this one and believe it will work well to honor my BLOG FRIENDS weekly! I think this is acceptable for their MEME! Why reinvent the wheel? It's a whole new group of friends for me, although I recognize some names from Thankful Thursday, Word Filled Wednesday or Then Sings My Soul Saturday. It's very creative and versatile.
Here's what Susanne (host @ Living to Tell the Story) shares about Friday's Fave Five "Hello and welcome to Friday's Fave Five. It's a place to come on Friday's and think back over your week and just post 5 favorite things from your week. It can be anything that tickled your fancy over the week. Favorite quotes, posts, scriptures, happenings, recipes, pictures, etc., etc. Go ahead and grab the button code from my sidebar and make your own post. Be as detailed as you like, the more detail the more fun for those of us visiting, though. Link to the Living to Tell the Story Fave Five post of that week and then add yourself to the Mr. Linky. Thanks for joining in. Hopefully we'll all have some smiles, meet some new people, find our interesting things about each other, focus on the good things in our lives, and in general have lots of fun!" SO for my FIRST time with FRIDAY'S FAVE FIVE (I think Fave stands for Favorite) I want to KEEP IT SIMPLE! MY FOCUS WILL BE FRIENDS and I WOULD LIKE TO INTRODUCE THE FIVE FRIENDS that HAVE ministered to me the most this week. Eventually I will want to write more about each of my 5 FAVORITES but for today, I will share MY FIVE and just link you to my favorite post that they have done this week...though with some of them every one of their posts all week bless me! Some write alot...some write just enough! If you read my MORE THAN A FRIEND post, you will meet the special ONE that I selected for that and it was hard to choose. I do have more than FIVE I follow...probably closer to 50! Not so many that choose to FOLLOW ME but since I don't post it and I BLOG FOR JESUS & me:that's OK SIDETRACK comments: [Even though this makes me limit also, I have a few more that I can add...so maybe this should be FIFTEEN Fave's or FIFTY Fave's for those of us who are excessive and unable to limit...because I'm sure they wanted a number that starts with the same letter "F".] [Actually, SEVEN seems the perfect number for me but I am already in great memes on Saturday & Sunday.] [Someone just remarked about having "memes" for everyday of the week and how that somewhat limits them from doing what God wants...as for me, I try to write what God wants me to share within the boundaries of that meme. Since this "blog" world is somewhat new to me, it works for me. I hope just because this is 'another meme' you will not decide not to read what I share because I believe GOD USES us right where "blog". And this is another GREAT MEME!]
1) DEBRA @ Clothed With Scarlet Actually her whole week blessed me but these posts are my Fave's: Friday Funnies and her photos for SUPER SUNDAY and this one MONDAY MADNESS. She shares more than once a day and is so inspirational and full of God's precious spirit, if you do not know her or missed these posts, check them out. Click on any word in color & you'll be linked. 2) DENISE @ Shortybear's Place More Than a Friend and every single one of her Love Dare challenges for each day this week and though it's hard to read without tears, it's such a testimony *Thankful Thursday: My Life 3) Laurie @ Women Taking A Stand *Falling for Jesus Change of Colors For me personally, this was the WORD of GOD meant directly for me and Laurie continued ministering to me on Wednesday Weekly Word (which I enjoy every week) but followed the previous post so well with...the importance of HOPE 4) Jill @ Forever n Ever n Always Wonderful Wednesday~ One Year ago Jill always share the love of her blended family with such wonderful heart & beautiful photos displaying the LOVE of her family and Our Lord. and who can pass up a chance for Major Praise.... 5) God Chaser @ Broken Vessel God Chaser has other blogs and Sabbath always blesses me every sabbath for Spiritual Sunday that's how I discovered her. But this one has blessed me, and I finally got to read itPower Word PRAISE ********************************************************************* Now even this was difficult because I could not choose my favorite post of my favorite friends! There is so much I enjoy during the week and as I kept adding the next, I'd remember someone else or their post. I'll have to work out a system for this! I guess I have an issue with being LIMITED!!! ALL THE REST OF YOU NEED TO KNOW THAT I LOVE YOUR POSTS THIS WEEK & MANY WEEKS HAVE BEEN MINISTERED BY YOU! SO BE ENCOURAGED YOU MAY BE MY NEXT FRIDAY'S FAVE FIVE Be sure to check out the LINKS of my favorites this week (at least one from each) and REMEMBER to visit LIVING TO TELL THE STORY for the other participants that link to this FABULOUS FRIDAY's FAVE 5 http://susannesspace.blogspot.com/2008/10/fridays-fave-five-11.html I could not help myself from adding this FAVORITE made available by YouTube from: Agapeland

Sherry from The Journey Back has started this:
Something brought you to my mind today
I thought about the funny ways you make me laugh
And yet I feel like it's okay to cry with you
Something about just being with you
When I leave I feel like I've been near God
And that's the way it ought to be...
CHORUS: 'Cause you've been more than a friend to me You fight off my enemies 'Cause you've spoken the Truth over my life And you'll never know what it means to me Just to know you've been on your knees for me Oh, you have blessed my life More than you'll ever know, yeah, yeah, yeah More than you'll ever know, yeah, yeah, yeah
You had faith, when I had none
You prayed God would bring me a brand new song
When I didn't think I could find the strength to sing
And all the while I'm hoping that I'll
Do the kind of praying for you that you've done for me
And that's the way it ought to be...
You have carried me
You have taken upon a burden that wasn't your own
And may the blessing return to you
A hundredfold, oh yeah...
A hundredfold, oh yeah
I stated that I was going to be doing this on FRIDAYS as a FEATURED FRIEND of all my FAVORITES...but I couldn't wait...and to think just last week I wrote that I could NOT do this
as I told Sherry what a giving & wonderful friend she is...and so I asked God for His blessing as I venture out among all the wonderful FRIENDS that are doing a blog that He would direct my choice and guard the hearts of the rest of my friends until I get to them (hopefully, God willing, I'll get to ALL of you...one by one) but I have to get to know you a little better.
So, today I began my reading of "The LOVE Dare" to post about DAY 7 and God made it clear as I read the opening paragraph, who I should choose and I do not believe that she will object to me combining my choice of her with my post of "The Love Dare" for Day 7...which is...
Many of you already know her, before I had the privelege of God leading us to each other, but
she is one of my new BEST FRIENDS FOREVER and since LOVE BELIEVES THE BEST ...I'm believing the BEST for her... since she's new I do not have a photo but maybe God will provide one later that I'll add...So for now you will recognize her by this:
You are one in a million, but God gave you to me as a friend
for my birthday gift (though your first visit with a comment) was the day before my birthday
I love the gift you are to me and for me!
The first blessing was to discover we were born the same year...same age.
I do not know that about any other friends but who knows.
Beth writes such heartwarming comments & also her posts at warmHarte
clearly are from her heart.
Her first comment:
"I've come over from XXXXX's place to visit you!! And I'm glad that I did!! I love the beautiful photo combined with this amazing verse--just inspiring before I start my day!! Thank you for the prayer--I prayed it as I read it--a very good reminder that we ARE God's light to this fallen world, and we definitely need to keep on shining!"
Another early comment:
"Anyway, I wanted to say that I am amazed (though I shouldn't be--I know!) how God is using the internet for HIS good purposes--spreading HIS work, bringing people together."
And one of her most recent ones:
"I came back to reread everything that you have written!! I just want you to know that your words have blessed me beyond belief, and why? Because they are spoken (written) from God's heart to your heart to my heart. I am thankful that God has placed you in my life at a time when I most needed a friend exactly like you! God is just awesome and amazing like that, isn't He?"

BETH The bouquet of flowers at the top is for you!
I truly believe that the best examples of one's friendship come from your own words written to that
friend! Beth has written to me emails and shared much of her heart and testimony as well as life's trials that have brought her to be the BEST FRIEND in the world for me at this season or all seasons. She wrote a comment asking a question when I announced The Love Dare and our friendship has taken off from there. One cannot describe how the heart rejoices when God joins them in one accord in prayer and friendship. I also started in her study of "Quiet Time with God"
as "Lord, Teach us to pray..." which she started right before The Love Dare began.
She wanted to do The Love Dare and went to purchase the book and look what she writes me...
"If you want me to, I’ll go tomorrow after church and get you a copy and mail it to you tomorrow. It shouldn’t take too long to get there. Just send me your address. I’d be more than happy to do this for you."
Beth has known me less than a month and look at her willing heart. She saw my need, my desire through the eyes of God...that I'm down here in Mexico and cannot easily get many of the things that everybody can go out and just grab there (when they can afford it) and she chose to bless me.
Now Beth did not become my choice or BEST FRIEND featured because of offering to bless me with this book, though I hope she knows that it is beyond the call of friendship...I chose her because
of the Godly connection we made in such a short time. Although I will not share anything private from her emails and our exchanges, you can just tell when God places a special person in your life for such a time as this...isn't God wonderful...
I found this poem that I thought Willnette's friend Gi had written so I did not want to take it, but it looks like it was meant to go along with the awards (though I'm not sure which one) that I gave out in TT or WFW called:
"If You ever need a hand I'm here"
We need Friends for many reasons,
all throughout the seasons.
We need Friends to comfort us when we are sad,
and to have fun with us when we are glad.
We need Friends to give us good advice,
We need someone we can count on,
and treat us nice.
We need Friends to remember us
ones we have passed sharing memories
that will always last.
Beth is a new friend in this season and I pray for all seasons. I know that it was meant because God's timing is perfect & planned...and I passed these awards on
to her because the words..."if you ever need a hand, I'm here"...become real when you are fortunate enough to find a friend that is like this. Many of the rest of you are like this also, which was the reason I told Sherry I find this hard to do.
If you get the chance, go and read from either of Beth's blogs because you will be so blessed as I am each time...but you must read this one here, when she passed on these two awards from two of us, which proves she's a double blessing
and God is double blessing her so I pray that reaches her current double goal of
"The Love Dare"
I hope that BETH and you will see how DAY 7 inspired me to think of my blog friends.
Be sure to visit Chelle @ her blog
for this 40 day marital challenge.
Since the beginning, my opinion is that you can do this LOVE DARE for anyone: family member-son/daughter...whomever just substitute whomever in place of spouse.
Of course, some personal concepts cannot be changed but "The Love Dare" is to assist us at loving as Jesus loved us and showed us how to love as Our Heavenly Father loves us. Jesus walks with us through learning & growing in HIS WORD & His principles on LOVE for every relationship! Just make the adjustment.
Let's just look at TODAY's:
"LOVE believes all things, hopes all things." ~1 Corinthians 13:7
Day 7 in The Love Dare starts out with these exact words:
"In the deep and private corridors of your heart, there is a room.
It's called the APPRECIATION ROOM.
It's where your thoughts go when you encounter positive and encouraging things..."
My heart immediately thought of BETH and thus the reason, I knew that God placed her there.
BETH, I truly appreciate you so much! In just a short time, you have been placed in my thoughts, prayers and heart.
Since this is a room of appreciation, according to LOVE DARE, there are walls. (Boy, do I have some thoughts about "walls"!) Many times in my life, especially in my relationship in my marriage, "walls" have gone up. Now since (as I explained in Day 6) I am an extrovert, "walls"
were not dealt well with me. My estranged spouse, after being diagnosed with diabetes, withdrew from our relationship more and more each day until he isolated himself and not only "walls" but doors were closed to our relationship.
Because of who I am, this was an awful shut-down and form of rejection after just having lost my mother in '86 now I was loosing my intimate relationship with my spouse as well.
While in spiritual counseling, I discovered that I dislike "walls" so much that as soon as I meet someone I like or want as a friend, I tell all there is to tell as honestly and quickly as possible,
so as not to leave any secrets or reason that they might discover this later and not remain as my friend. I tell people "to take down walls" right away so they can make their decision
knowing all this. There are many lessons in "walls" and some of the fears that accompany them, are abandonment, rejection, isolation, resentment becomes bitterness...I guess these are in the room that The Love Dare says are in the room down the hall called the Depreciation Room.

However, The Love Dare, is speaking of the walls in the Appreciation Room, where good attributes are kept where kind words and phrases are written that bring good memories!

On these walls are positive characteristics that come to mind as you think of that special person. In fact, they say that if you focus on these positive attributes, the more grateful

you become for that person. As you think about those positive characteristics, your appreciation increases.

So, think about this; Which room do you visit the most when recalling that LOVE challenge?

In the Depreciation room are written those "irritations". You line up all the weaknesses and failures that bother you about that LOVE challenge person. You put them there when you were hurt, frustrated and disappointed of unmet expectations of that person.

So: What are your "unmet" expectations of this LOVE challenge person?

What might they have placed in their "Appreciation or Depreciation Room" about you?

What can you do about it? How can you change?

Too many of us, spend time visiting the "Depreciation" room, "licking our wounds",

and that is what kills marriages or relationships. The more time you spend in this place, the

more your heart devalues this person. You need to realize that you use these irritations as ammunition each time you enter a fight, argument, discord, "battlefront lines" of miscommunication~ this is where "bitterness" sets in...oh how the enemy seeks to stir that up in a home!!!

The truth is that everyone of us has failed, has weaknesses and "have sinned" which leaves us areas that need growth and change. I see this as when I need the cleansing of the Lord...and pray, "Lord, create in me a clean heart.." so can we not allow this same cleansing for the other person...in order to have growth(think of a new seedling of a plant) we need "to pick the weeds", we need "to water with living, fresh water", we need "to trim", we need "to get rid of the harmful components" (like bugs, chemicals, dead leaves or branches)...Do you get the picture? What you do for you, needs to be allowed for the other!

All of us carry unresolved issues, hurts and personal baggage. It's the human condition that I pointed out above..."all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." The sad part is that being human, we tend to not look so closely at our own negative attributes that may irritate

others while we magnify the other person's failures and guard them in our heart as wounds

(granted it may be unintentional) but when the time prompts us...we are so ready to retaliate

and use these "fiery darts" (now you must realize where these come from) but the real issue:

The LOVE DARE says: Love knows about the Depreciation Room and does not live in denial that it exists. LOVE focuses on the positive. Love Dare has some very practical applications on this.

"It's time to let love lead your thoughts and your focus. The only reason you should glance in the door of the Depreciation Room is to know how to pray for your LOVE Dare challenge person. And the only reason you should ever go into this room is to write, "Covered in LOVE" across the walls. " IS THIS NOT GREAT???!!!

"Developing the habit of reigning in your negative thoughts and focusing on the positive attributes of your Love challenge person is a crucial step to learning to lead your heart to truly love your that person. It is a decision that you make, whether they deserve it or not."

I cannot resist adding one more point from the word "reigning" probably from my own personal life of knowing I need a "reign" on my mouth just like I used to "reign" my horse. You need to start training a horse to accept or put the bit in their mouth to be able to train the horse to "reign". "Reigning a horse" is so that the horse will go the direction you want to go.

Come, Holy Spirit and reign in our lives...so we will go where You desire to lead us & bring us to reign in Your Kingdom. Reign over my mouth and my thoughts especially those in the depreciation room of those I am called to LOVE. Lead me with Your reign into the place of

continual appreciation of the positive in each person and make this my focus daily +++++++

The Love Dare spoke about the years when you first met your spouse and the many memories that you hold from those days of First Love. It's easy to love someone or appreciate them when you first meet. The trial is to continue loving them for years to come and stand on your commitment & vows you made to love them until death do you part.

Many of us go through a death in our relationships. My encouragement to you is for any relationship but mostly for the One you have or could have or should have with

This LOVE will/does not die but needs to be renewed daily and focused on ALL the PRAISES within you and ALL HIS WONDERFUL ATTRIBUTES & CHARACTERISTICS on you mind constantly.

Think of the reasons that YOUR LOVE for JESUS does not die as you come to know HIM more!

Think about how JESUS resurrects the dead from the grave and bursts forth with NEW LIFE!

Give Him a chance to birth that NEW LIFE or RENEW & REFRESH YOUR FIRST LOVE with HIM

each day as you take time & set aside time to come into HIS PRESENCE & LOVE just to talk, we call that prayer...quiet time...worship...adoration...praise...and

THANK HIM for He is worthy!

Which brings us to TODAY's DARE with a different sense of awareness:

For Today's Dare, get two sheets of paper. On the first one, spend a few minutes writing out positive things about your LOVE challenge person. Then do the same with negative things on the second sheet. Place both sheets in a secret place for another day. There is a different purpose and plan for each. At some point during the remainder of the day, pick a positive attribute from the first list and thank your person for having this characteristic.

I ALMOST LOST ALL OF THIS, BLOGGER WAS NOT SAVING & TOLD ME IT WASN'T AVAILABLE when I went to Publish and now I read that there's a scheduled outage...so I'll add this to BLESS ALL MY FRIENDS BUT ESPECIALLY OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST my BEST FRIEND FOREVER & FIRST LOVE! Just to remind us...how HE sees us...we should be seeing our LOVE DARE! What a Friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bare! What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer! And I'll cherish the old rugged cross Til' my trophies at last I lay down; I will cling to the old rugged cross, And exchange it some day for a crown. Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to Thee, How great Thou Art, how great Thou art! Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to Thee, How great Thou art, how great Thou Art!
