"The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the LORD's favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion — to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair." ~ from ISAIAH 61 Bible verse for this Blog

Why am I such a dusty window
For your light to shine through?
Why am I just a tiny star
In a sky already blue?
Why do I offer everything
With my heart closed like a fist?
I want to love You better than this

Why do I live like I'm in chains
When You have set me free?
And why do I have to break Your heart
Before I fall to my knees?
I know it's time to pray for change
Give all I have to give
I want to love You better than this

[shared by Gemini on March 13th (just the words) in TSMSS]

So renew me
Remake me
Undo me
Unbreak me
Come into the empty spaces
Of my broken places
And consume me
Complete me
Pursue me
Redeem me
Let Your Holy Spirit living through me
Renew me

I need Your power to renew me, Lord, yeah
I need to know You're moving through me, Lord

I need You as my refuge
My first and last resort
Be the river always running
Through my deepest thoughts
Keep me in Your arms
'Cause even when I drift
I want to love You better than this

So renew me
Remake me
Undo me
Unbreak me
Come into the empty spaces
Of my broken places
And consume me
Complete me
Pursue me
Redeem me
Let Your Holy Spirit living through me
Renew me

My life bending to Your will
Seeking You until I'm more and more like You

Psalm 19:14 (24 kb)

May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight,
O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer.

I'm continuing in a study that Jill @ Forever n Ever n Always is doing on "Praying the Names of God" from the book by Ann Spangler.

The book is set up so that each day, Monday through Friday, you focus on the NAME of GOD! Each Monday; Ann shares GOD REVEALS HIS NAME, to help us get an understanding and study the Name through questions.

Each Tues., Weds., Thurs., is PRAYING THE NAME which leads us through ACTS: Reflecting on a scripture (with the Name, of course):
Adore God; Confess; Offer Thanks and then Ask God to Supply Something Specific.

Then on Fri. sharing God's Promises associated with HIS NAME and how to continue in Prayer and Praise with other scriptures over the weekend.

The Name of God for this week: Yahweh Yireh or more commonly known by me as Jehovah Jireh, Our Provider

KEY SCRIPTURE this week:
Abraham looked up and there in a thicket he saw a ram caught by its horns. He went over and took the ram and sacrificed it as a burnt offering instead of his son. So Abraham called that place The LORD Will Provide. And to this day it is said, “On the mountain of the LORD it will be provided.” (Genesis 22:13–14)

Ann Spangler explains on Day 1:
The Name
The Hebrew word raah (RA-ah, from which yireh is derived) means “to see.” In this case, it is translated as “provide.” Since God sees the future as well as the past and the present, he is able to anticipate and provide for what is needed. Interestingly the English word “provision” is made up of two Latin words that mean “to see beforehand.” When you pray to Yahweh Yireh, you are praying to the God who sees the situation beforehand and is able to provide for your needs.
Ann's prayer:
Yahweh Yireh, the Lord who provides for me, thank You for all Your blessings—for forgiveness and faith, purpose and hope, food and shelter, family and friends, strength and wisdom, rest and work, laughter and light.Your blessings never come to an end because You are a God of infinite grace. Amen.
Ann focuses this week while "Praying the Names of God" on Jehovah Jireh/ Yahweh Yireh: Genesis 22:1–14 (Tues.) Genesis 22:9–12 (Weds.) Genesis 22:15–18 (Thurs.)

Promises in Scripture:
For in the land the LORD your God is giving you to possess as your inheritance, he will richly bless you, if only you fully obey the LORD your God and are careful to follow all these commands I am giving you today. (Deuteronomy 15:4–5)
So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don’t fall! No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it. (1 Corinthians 10:12–13)
Continued Prayer and Praise
Reflect on God’s provision for your life. (Matthew 6:28–30)
Pray for the grace to reflect God’s generosity by generously providing for others. (1 Timothy 6:17–19)
Strong's Reference: 3070 However, Jehovah Jireh (Yahweh Yireh) only used the one time in the Key Scripture, means "The Lord will see, The Lord will provide. The Lord will be seen."

This is the only post I will be sharing on Jehovah Jireh; Yahweh Yireh, though I am ever so THANKFUL for the many PROVISIONS He has given me, throughout my life. He never ceases to amaze me each and every day in how He provides for the most simple to the most profound.

The one that stands out the most in my life is when HE provided two children, almost three for me to adopt, which was DIVINE PROVIDENCE! This was 7 years into my marriage and though I was blessed to be a foster mom to 13 different teens, starting out with teen moms... this was specially arranged.

The children were the children of my husband's niece, so they could not have been more closely chosen and perfectly a blessing. First was our son... then within the next year, he returned to his biological mom but shortly thereafter, was given back to us and his siblings also became available. We became temporary custodians of him and then his sister, but his brother had been placed in a home that wanted to adopt him. I went from being a "mom" of no kids to a "mom of 2" at the age of 3 but we did not adopt until 2 years later after their biological mom resigned her rights as their parent because she knew they would be well cared for and she would be able to remain part of their lives. This was a MIRACLE in my life!!! and definitely showed me how God (El Roi) sees me and knows me. He created these beautiful children (Elohim) then provided (Jehovah Jireh) the right to call them "my children" temporarily but forever HIS, adopted into His family. Thank You, Jehovah Jireh!

And of course, when Yahweh Yireh, provided His Son, as the sacrificial Lamb of God, which we commemorate this week, just like Abraham when he was willing to sacrifice his son, Isaac.

Because of this I am sharing mostly music this week, as I spend time focusing on my Lord, and Savior, Jesus Christ!!! I am so thankful for Jesus and the price He paid for "me and my household" that they may know Him for all eternity. I await the completion of His promises as HE continues to PROVIDE!

Session 8: God...WHO ARE YOU...? Online Bible Study

"One of the most significant ways in which God has revealed Himself to us is through the revelation of His name. God's names reveal His very nature and character. To know God's name is to enjoy a kind of personal access to Him.
By revealing His names to us, God made Himself, literally an open book- open to be worshiped properly and open to the possibility of being dishonored through the misuse of His name." ~ Jenifer, By His Grace Ministries and At The Well Bible Study: Session 8

God...who are You & what can You do for me? Session 8 from Jenifer Jernigan on Vimeo.

You have to listen to the Vimeo to hear the assignment this week!

Remember to GO to AT THE WELL to get the study!

What a perfect Name to focus on for this week!

You won't want to miss this one...

[my response for today's will be the beginning of a book]

added Tuesday... as I begin to put my answer together or at least think about it...

"Where do I begin, to tell the story, of how GREAT, full love can be, the GREAT love story"... of the daughter and her KING... of all the PEACE that Christ's love does bring... where do I start?

(rewrite of this good ole song because this is what came to me as I thought about how to start answering the 'assignment' for this week even with the 3 prompts)(all HE, HIM, HIS refer to Jesus Christ for me)

"Where do I begin, to tell the story, of how GREAT, full love can be,

The sweet love story That is older than the sea That sings the truth about the love HE brings to me Where do i start With the first hello HE gave the meaning To this empty world of mine That never did Another love, another time HE came into my life And made a living fine HE fills my heart HE fills my heart With very special things With angel songs With wild imaginings HE fills my soul With so much love That anywhere i go I'm never lonely With HIM along who could be lonely I reach for HIS hand HE'S always there How long does it last Can love be measured by the hours in a day I have no answers now But this much i can say

I know i'll need HIM 'til this love song burns away

And HE'LL be there "...

Looks like I will be away for awhile answering this one ... because I have been meaning to do this since I started blogging. Last year Laura Lee Shaw, Lynn Donovan and a few others asked me if I had mine written. Then eLisa over at Extravagant Grace recently started "An Unraveling Heart" (a continuous one) and now Jenifer, with this 'assignment'... that makes 3 for me, so it's a MUST DO...

* I shared a song today SHALOM JERUSALEM to prepare our hearts for the Prince of Peace.

Shalom, Shalom Jerusalem
peace be to you
when Messiah comes to take us home
May His Praise be found in you
Pray for Peace Jerusalem
City Of Our God,
there Salvation was poured out for you
the Atoning Of The Lord
Once your streets filled with Joy
branches raised up high shouting
Blessed Be The Holy One Yeshua T'adonai Israel, Beloved
Ephraim, My Son
how My Heart would thrill to hear you say
Messiah has Come o My Brothers
Hear these Words may they pierce your Soul turn again to worship Adonai
You Will Bow
(words above are for Shalom Jerusalem)
Not the best visual quality but so lively and praiseworthy to Jehovah Shalom, Adonai, Our Messiah
(words below are some of the verses for "Let God arise" which is what this video really is)
...May I dwell in your courts Oh Lord Then to florish like the trees of Lebanon Planted in the house of Adonai There to live forevermore...
...Rejoice Rejoice Daughter of Zion Shout aloud o Israel Sing Rejoice with all your heart Oh Jerusalem...
...For the Lord has taken your punishment Destroyed your enemies King of Israel Lord of all is He In the midst of us
He is mighty...(Rejoice,...)
...For the Lord your God in the midst of you Mighty is His Name Rejoicing over you with Songs of Gladness Singing Joyfully He will save us...
...Let God Arise Let God Arise Let His Enemies be scattered But let the righteous be glad Yes let them rejoice with Gladness God has triumphed mightily...
...Let God Arise Let God Arise...
PSALM 46:1
God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.
Judges 6:23-24

But the LORD said to him, "Peace! Do not be afraid. You are not going to die."

So Gideon built an altar to the LORD there and called it The LORD is Peace.

...Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: "May those who love you be secure.(v. 6)

I have another video and special "PALM SUNDAY" post scheduled for this morning from what's happening in Mexico (and no, not the violence, though it is atrocious and noteworthy, I'm not in control of it, but God is and corruption is everywhere) so I hope you'll come back.
This week with Jenifer from By His Grace Ministry over AT THE WELL we will be focusing on
JEHOVAH SHALOM, Lord is Peace. What a beautiful name to have this week! I strongly recommend visiting and listening to Jenifer on Vimeo and downloading her study to join us.

"Semana Santa"
Palm Sunday Triumphant Entry
here in Mexico (photo is Taxco)
Known as HOLY WEEK among Catholics ...
begins today with PALM SUNDAY and lasts
here for two weeks.

Palm Sunday is in celebration of this event in the Bible

Matthew 21(NIV) The Triumphal Entry

As they approached Jerusalem and came to Bethphage on the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent two disciples, saying to them, "Go to the village ahead of you, and at once you will find a donkey tied there, with her colt by her. Untie them and bring them to me. If anyone says anything to you, tell him that the Lord needs them, and he will send them right away."
This took place to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet:
"Say to the Daughter of Zion,
'See, your king comes to you,
gentle and riding on a donkey,
on a colt, the foal of a donkey.' "
The disciples went and did as Jesus had instructed them. They brought the donkey and the colt, placed their cloaks on them, and Jesus sat on them. A very large crowd spread their cloaks on the road, while others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road. The crowds that went ahead of him and those that followed shouted,
"Hosanna to the Son of David!"
"Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!"
"Hosanna in the highest!"
10 When Jesus entered Jerusalem, the whole city was stirred and asked, "Who is this?"
11 The crowds answered, "This is Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth in Galilee."

Sadly, the emphasis is more on a two week vacation for the nationals and many flood the beach cities, which is only good for the businesses, like the vendors who really need to be blessed, but not so much for their spiritual blessings and business.

YWAM Mazatlan (Youth With A Mission) takes advantage of this time for EVANGELIZING! Praise God! Pray for them.

Many Christians in the United States also remember Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday, which marks the beginning of Holy Week.

The palm and the cross are Christian symbols that are seen in churches at a Palm Sunday service or mass. In Mexico, you will find them available like these below in front of the churches being sold by vendors. Many times, a palm branch is handed out during the mass (service) and blessed to be taken to their homes.

This day is one week prior to Easter Sunday. The actual remembrance begins on Thursday. This is Holy Week:
  • Maundy Thursday–Thursday, April 1, 2010 The Lord's Last Supper
  • Good Friday–Friday, April 2, 2010
  • Holy Saturday–Saturday, April 3, 2010
  • Easter Sunday–Sunday, April 4, 2010
  • Easter Monday–Monday, April 5, 2010

The Jehovah Witnesses are strong here and going door to door every week, currently inviting the people to a commemoration on Tuesday, March 30th after sundown ... the only thing they celebrate because the Word tells them to remember Him as commanded during His Last Supper, so they are commemorating Jesus' death with the Last Supper. There are many English speaking JW's here as well as Spanish speaking that follow Jehovah (over 100 congregations here).

Many are searching, what are you doing to shine Jesus? You have to admire the diligence in which the JWs recruit door to door. How sad those that believe in works!

Will you please pray this week for the lost and those who are not following and accepting Jesus as the only Way, the Life and the Truth, and  for those being deceived by others and the enemy of our souls, that their eyes may be opened to the Truth in Jesus Christ.

PLEASE PRAY FOR HEARTS BEING TURNED OVER TO JESUS, AS SAVIOR and PEOPLE BEGIN TO SEE THEIR NEED FOR A PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP with JESUS to know God, the Father! That they would break free from religious traditions meet the REAL JESUS this year and see the Truth, the Life, the Way... One Way-Jesus!

I'm going to try and get out this week to take some photos. I have many recorded memories from previous years of this event here but most are in videos and I can no longer change those to see or share because that video camera is broken and I guess extinct nowadays. I'm still living in the 90s with stuff I brought down here to Mexico from MN back then. Pretty out dated, huh?

Anyways, I have songs posted for the entire week but do not plan to be on line, so know that I will get back to you and visit if you come and bless me with your words while I'm out, or better said while I'm reflecting and praying/ worshiping Jesus as King and my Lord.

My past won't stop haunting me In this prison there's a fight between Who I am and who I used to be This thorn in my side is a grace For because of it the flesh and blood of God Was offered in my place, my place You fought the fight in me You chased me down and finished the race I was blind but now I see Jesus You kept the faith in me Where did my best friends go? In my defense they disappeared Just like Your friends did to You, oh Lord But You were there, You gave me strength So this little one might come to know The glory of Your name, Your name You fought the fight in me You chased me down and finished the race I was blind but now I see Jesus You kept the faith in me Awaiting, set apart like incense to Your heart A libation I'm pouring out Empty and beautiful, beautiful, beautiful You fought the fight in me You chased me down and finished the race I was blind but now I see Jesus You kept the faith in me You fought the fight in me You chased me down and finished the race I was blind but now I see Jesus You kept the faith in me Jesus You kept the faith in me Savior, You kept the faith in me [ Empty And Beautiful Lyrics on http://www.lyricsmania.com/ ]

Each week I share scripture verse(s) that affirm or reaffirm WHO I AM in CHRIST in a feature I now call FREEDOM in CHRIST.
(each of these is linked to the 1st one of that category with all the verses)

Let's look at what the Bible says about our IDENTITY in CHRIST. Freedom in Christ Ministries (FICM), breaks the above categories into three parts (see the linked image of theirs in the corner or in each post on this topic):
I AM ACCEPTED, I AM SIGNIFICANT, I AM SECURE, which comes from Neil T. Anderson books on being free in Christ. [I shared this in the intro].

This is the last post of my FREEDOM in CHRIST that I had prepared for now.

Today's FOCUS:

Today's VERSE:

2 Corinthians 5:17 (45 kb)

This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person.

The old life is gone; a new life has begun! (NLT)

Peggy is a new creation.
YOU are a new creation.

Therefore if Peggy is in Christ, she is a new creation.
The old things have passed away.
Behold, all things have become new.

Nicole Nordeman "Finally Free"

What a perfect image "a BEAUTIFUL BUTTERFLY" to represent our Freedom in Christ and our new life in Him as we emerge daily from our 'cocoon' to being "FINALLY FREE" from the old creature and bursting forth as a new image complete and brilliant! How timely is this that this verse falls at this time as we anxiously await spring! However, with the spring and new growth, also comes the "flooding" of the rains and snow as it now melts. It is a time of being prepared whether that means sand bagging or moving to higher ground.

Being prepared with 'spring cleaning'... a cleansing of our hearts and minds. Being prepared to plant. Being prepared to uproot that which is no good. Being prepared to water seed planted in others or ourselves.

Being prepared to make necessary changes. Being prepared to restore that which needs to be renewed and getting rid of all that impedes restoration (unforgiveness, hardness, bitterness, bad roots, unwillingness, grumbling, lies, unrepentance, etc.)

Being prepared is readiness to move forward not backwards; being prepared means a readiness to leave the past behind and press on.

Being prepared means that you've spent long enough in that old comfort of the cocoon and you're ready to shake it off and fly. The time in the cocoon has prepared you. The entire metamorphosis is necessary and is a matter of stages of growth. When the metamorphosis is COMPLETE the new creation will spring forth and spread its wings; they must dry before flying but they are prepared.

We are being transformed into the image of Jesus Christ in every process. Whether in a dry season or dormant through the winter months, your time has come.

Lift up your head and rejoice, for "if anyone is in Christ, she/he is a new creation (creature); the old things have passed away; behold, all things are become new (2 Corinthians 5:17).

We are made NEW in Christ. Yes, we sinned, but the "vanity" (futility) of our lives is done away in Him. Let us turn to the Lord in ways we have not known Him before. Give Him EVERYTHING, give Him yourself; for in Him, "the old things are passed away; behold all things have become new" (2 Corinthians 5:17). TRUST in the Lord!

Lord, we trust in You now. We have sinned in actions and attitudes, and cannot change the past. We confess our sins and our sorrow. We receive You, now. Come fill us, Holy Spirit, and make all things new. Thank You! In Jesus Name.

Since writing the above I viewed a video series by Beth Moore on Life Today with James and Betty Robison, "A Beautiful Mind". The focus scripture verse is 2 Timothy 1:7. As I listened, I knew that this was meant for me. This was my main verse that I clung to in the early 90's when I needed a sound mind and reminded me of then and also earlier in my life.

The reason I came back here to share this is while viewing Beth, it struck me how I truly have become a New Creation in Christ. Beth's words reminded me of how God does transform us by the renewing of our minds, and not with all the junk in the world and in society, or the lies that we believe or repeat to ourselves, but so important to fill our mind with God's Word, that brings healing and deliverance from strongholds or bondages and purifies our thoughts rather than allow them to control us. Maybe times believing we cannot heal the past.

This is a continual process of transformation and renewing; reclaiming what we have the right to "a sound mind" because the battlefield is for your mind.

I strongly recommend that you view or purchase this series if you have not seen or heard. Never have I related so much with Beth's words, as I did this time. I love hearing her on Wednesdays with Beth ... and that you can listen anytime to the archives if you miss that day.

Here are the links for "A Beautiful Mind" week from the beginning of March on Life Today (the links did not work to the archives)(you need to log in) but here are the dates for Life Today with Beth as their guest on 2 Timothy 1:7:
